Summer’s Dream

SUMMER is quiet, confident, pretty, popular and VERY serious about dance . . .

Summer has always dreamed of dancing, and when a place at ballet school comes up, she wants it so badly it hurts.

Middle school ends and the holidays begin, but unlike her sisters, Summer has no time for lazy days and sunny beach parties. The audition becomes her obsession, and things start spiralling out of control . . .

The more Summer tries to find perfection, the more lost she becomes. Will she realise – with the help of the boy who wants more than friendship – that dreams come in all shapes and sizes?

Reviews of Summer’s Dream

  1. I have finished reading it for what must be the millionth time but I love it and it feels like I’m reading it for the first time each time. The story is so grasping and it meant a lot to me and it seemed like Cathy Cassidy has done an amazing job at understanding what it must be like to live with an eating disorder. It is such a good book and i almost feel as if I want to hug Summer because it is such a well written emotional book and I loved this one! Can’t wait for ‘Sweet Honey’ to come out! Not long left now! 🙂

  2. This book makes me cry so much right from the start for some reason. It’s very powerful and well written, and I enjoy reading it when I’m feeling like I’ve lost control because it’s about someone feeling worse than I do… It’s hitting a bit too close to home recently though but I still love it!

  6. I really loved this book. I got it from my school library and I’d never so excited over a book! It was worth it in the end…Right now, I’m middle of a lot of stress:from trying to get a Level 6 paper for SATs! This book helped me relax. I wanted to read again but I couldn’t because it belonged to the school! But better than ever, I got it for my eleventh birthday! All I’m trying to say is…thank you Cathy writing such amazing and touching books!

  10. I think this story is great and I love it so much as well as the other books of the cathy Cassidy chocolate box girls it is such a great book and I can never put it down (not even on the toilet) it is so addicting and especially that it’s got so much description and I love it how she falls in love with the boy she least expects it to be .and also many girls are suffering from anorexia so I’m glad it shows awareness about anorexia because it’s really bad to think so many girls are hiding it from there family like she was.
I absolutely love, love, love this book Cathy Cassidy is my most fave author
